Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre Hosts ABACE for Four Consecutive Years

For the fourth year running, Shanghai Hawker Pacific is playing host to ABACE, the Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition. The annual event was hosted at the facility for the first time in March 2012 and has continued the show at the facility every year since.

“We are proud to play host to the event,” commented George Lu, the Deputy General Manager for the company. “ABACE has been vital for bringing business aviation to life in Asia and we think it particularly helps Shanghai as being seen as a hub for business aviation.”

“Construction for the show requires several weeks of lead time, and NBAA, Hongqiao Airport, and Shanghai Hawker Pacific have to all work closely together to coordinate and make the show happen. We normally don’t have general aviation aircraft or helicopters at the airport as well, so we have the element of coordination with ATC and the CAAC to help get approvals for the planes to get here. In the end, it all comes together and we are very proud of the caliber of the show and the importance it plays for business aviation in Asia,” Lu continued.

“Setup for the show this year has been the smoothest to date as the learning curve for everyone involved keeps getting better” according to Lu. “During the show, the FBO remains open for normal customers, but we do see a fair number of flights that have to go to Pudong International during the event. We work hard to balance the smooth functioning of the event along with the expectations of our regular Shanghai customers as possible.”
